Where the Dead Poets Sing is a new physical theatre adaptation of Micheal Curran Dorsano's work, presented by Know Promises as part of the ATU Performing Arts Graduation Showcase.

The production follows a writer trapped in a creative block as the words he struggles to write take physical form. Through a chorus of masked performers, movement, and corporeal mime, his inner conflict unfolds in a theatrical world where language, memory, and imagination collide. Blending mask theatre, Greek chorus, and ensemble performance, the work explores the creative process through movement as much as text.

Developed through an intensive devising process, the student ensemble trained in corporeal mime, Greek chorus, mask performance, and mask making, creating both the movement vocabulary and the masks used throughout the production. Working alongside Know Promises, the performers became integral collaborators in shaping the visual and physical language of the piece.

Presented in May as part of the ATU Performing Arts Graduation Showcase, the production celebrated ensemble theatre-making and the collaborative relationship between professional artists and emerging performers.
